i have seen the attendants giving away their berth to unauthorized persons and themselves staying awake the whole night. I have been told that these berths go for as much as Rs. 1000 for the entire journey. Also at the end of each journey they come up to you for tips.

I think they prefer AC as no one out of coach would hear them shout. In SL this is not that easy. They coordinate where GRP are away. From reports it is seen they work in total coordination.
