most people don't travel for fun
business, job, education are some pf the main reasons why people travel, and in many of the cases the person who travels may not always be voluntarily participating in it. routes, which cater to such areas which have large businesses, colleges etc will obviously see high demand.
by trying to irresponsibly raise fares on such routes, you are basically trying to extort money out of them, as the cheapness of railways means that other forms of transport may be absent, thereby giving you a monopoly that you...
