gate. The Defence Estates Office in Prayagraj had forwarded the request to the Ministry of Defence, which granted permission to transfer 1.92 acres of land. The land transfer will be completed after necessary formalities. Once the land is acquired, the railway will begin development work. According to the Defence Estates Officer, A.K. Mishra, the Ministry of Defence granted permission on the condition that the railway will provide an equal amount of land in return. The railway plans to expand Gorakhpur Cantt station, which will include the construction of the gate and other development works. Previously, the Army had granted 42 acres of land for the expansion of Gorakhpur airport. The airport expansion work has already begun.
