Dear Sir,
May I know if a person is having a Waitlisted Ticket, even if it gets confirmed, it says your berth/seat will be given after chart preparation.
If it can be given earlier itself, it would be grateful

Naresh ji.... Jo chala aa raha hain... use chalane do.
Indian railway system hain woh pichale 30 salo se chal rahi hain.... and known as a best system in world as it is serving facility to morethan 2 Corore public par day.
Consider your mother has planned a journey but she got WL -1 ticket, and your mother is prefering Lower bearth.

some one canceled his/her ticket who is having Side Upper, so now your mother will get side upper bearth... but this is not good, so your mother will get her prefered bearth and that is only possible at time of preparing chart.
Do you know... in flight we are not getting seat number at time of booking, when we are doing check-in at that time only they are alloting seat number.

To passengers, it is desirable to get coach and berth positions as soon as tickets get confirmed. But it's not possible for Railways to immediately allot such details and hence it is available in the chart only...
However, there is no worry factor for passengers ... as the status is sure to remain confirmed... Just at the time of chart timings, if you go through the PNR status checking, you can know the coach/berth details.....
