She made a Rajdhani train halt at a station which was a not a scheduled halt, do you think getting a seat is a difficult task for her :D
"Ranchi, Oct. 21: Railway Board has sought a report by October 25 on the unscheduled halt made by the New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express at Muri last morning from South Eastern Railway even as a preliminary probe, sources said, had established that the premier train was stopped to allow the daughter of a senior official on board.
Md Jamshed, member (traffic) of the Railway Board,...
more... said an inquiry had been ordered. "If any officer is found guilty (of using clout to stop the premier train), strict action will be taken (against him) latest by Tuesday," Jamshed told this correspondent.
The Board member was referring to today's report in The Telegraph on how the 22824 express to Bhubaneswar had halted for three minutes at Muri, 60km from here, around 8.30am yesterday apparently to allow on board the daughter of senior divisional operations manager of Ranchi M.R. Acharya.
A source said general manager of South Eastern Railway (SER) A.K. Goel himself initiated an internal probe this morning, anticipating pressure from the Railway Board.
A high-level inquiry committee, comprising officials from different divisions of SER, is learnt to have told Goel that Acharya's daughter had indeed boarded the train from Muri. Not Acharya alone, four more officials may face action, the source said.
Goel told The Telegraph that a probe had begun following orders of the Board.
"The divisional railway manager (DRM) of Ranchi must report to me by Monday. The incident happened under his area of jurisdiction," Goel said.
Ranchi DRM Ansul Gupta didn't answer calls.
Additional DRM Vijay Kumar refused to comment. "I am in Calcutta. I cannot comment on the matter. A probe is on," he said.
The premier train from New Delhi was not just halted at Muri junction, but also rerouted from yard tracks meant for galloping trains to tracks along Platform 3, sources said. Acharya, however, claimed that his daughter boarded the Rajdhani from Bokaro, where the train made a scheduled stop at 7.35am yesterday.
Muri stationmaster M.S. Khan, who had last morning admitted that he had escorted a woman passenger to Rajdhani's B-3 coach following orders from his seniors but retracted the statement by evening, did not answer calls from this newspaper today.
Senior divisional operations manager Acharya too remained unreachable."
