Not sure, sir. But probably yes. All three trains in this case are relatively short distance trains. And the buffer time at each junction would be of several hours. so, even in case of delays, most likely the slip service still used to run with small delays. Such train-hopping for slip coaches was very common back in the day. Bombay mail in it's initial days used to carry a whole bunch of through coaches. The GT had many slip services. The Bombay-Madras mail in it's initial days had so many through coach connections that it was positively ridiculous. And waiting for 9-10 hours in a slip coach was very common for passengers of those days. Lucky ones. :)
