yea probably that's how the IR electrification projects work, but electrification of short sections might prove to be a boon.
Taking the case of this section from ALD to ET, IR could first target:
1. JBP KTE stretch: The trains which originate from JBP and move towards SGO or BSP could first get electric links
2. JBP ET stretch: The trains which originate

from JBP moving towards BPL/BSL/NGP could first get electric links
3. KTE Rewa stretch: The trains originating from Rewa travelling towards SGO/BSP could first get electric links
.
Ultimately completion of these small sections would have started saving fuel before the completion of electrification on the entire stretch

Their is one more consideration which availability of power. IR also need to produce more Electric Locos to cover these to be electrified routes. In IR context, Electrification is a slow & steady process.

Incomplete sections with missing electrified rail links etc should be the priority of IR to complete them ASAP, there are many routes and sections which have some RKM of non-electrified tracks , force the divisions to send diesel locos. e.g. the 11057 , Mumbai -ASR express, has to change traction from electric to diesel at UMB to cover the 85 km stretch of non-electrified route from Rajpura-Patiala-Dhuri-Ludhiana. and from LDH the electrified tracks start again till ASR, but the same diesel loco is sent ahead till ASR, instead they can attach a diesel loco in front of eloco from UMB, and then from LDH , the eloco can take charge till ASR and vice versa. In anyways that Eloco is kept resting at UMB only, and the train is sent with diesel traction. what a poor management and waste of fuel !!

after so many years, IR is now electrifying the Rajpura-Patiala-Dhuri-Bathinda section and Jakhal -Dhuri- LDH section, which shall avoid the traction change at UMB, and the same Eloco shall be sent till ASR..

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
