Kochi: The Ministry of Railways is mulling the conversion of two existing Jan Shatabdi Express trains bound for Kozhikode and Kannur from Thiruvananthapuram into Vande Bharat...
As I had said in this post /blog/post/5328874 that many js and Shatabdi which is currently running will be converted to VB's as zones gets the rakes,if this news is correct than surely it will happen. Fares will be risen,I felt pitty for 2S people's of js. /blog/post/5328874
This JS have more stops, if VB comes the stops will reduce, which people may object so the chance of replacement of these JS will be rare. Shatabdi may be, as it has less stoppages.
The truth is Kerala requires more intercity type trains.....Vande Bharath can be night trains and can be experimented in Trivandrum - Bangalore and Trivandrum - Chennai route that too via NCJ - TEN......but since doubling of KTYM line is also getting over probably we can see a TVC - MAQ / MAJN Vande Bharath Express which will cover entire kerala....but not sure about its feasibility.....meanwhile Palakkad - Ernakulam / Trivandrum Intercity Express still remains.....
