approved in 2018 with a budget of 4940 crores, involves a 240 km line from Bahraich to Dumriaganj via various towns in the district. The foundation stone was laid in March 2019 by former Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State Manoj Sinha. The project was initially scheduled for completion by 2024-25, but work has been delayed.
