50 lakhs is peanuts for any station. They can't do any big change with that , they ll start a project , prolong it and finally costs will escalate and complete the project in some other different way.

doubling of Irugur & Podanur stretch will be help full for freight
Look. Few passenger trains use this route. Very few. Goods don't pass like one train every 2 minutes.2ndly thats a small distance and can be covered easily by a freight pulled by WAG-7/WAG-5/WAG-9/WDG-4/ WDM-3D/ WDG-3A/ Twin WDM-3A/2
