Nowadays New Railway lines are taken up for execution only with the concerned State Govt 50% financial participation.In addition if free contribution of LAND for the Project by the State,then top priority given for execution by the IR.So nowadays execution of New Railway lines are in the concerned State Govt decision only.
Isnt there a issue of protected forest area in the Wayanad region? I heard that they are now blocking road traffic from crossing the forest at night to avoid disturbing the animals on the Mysore - Kozhikode route at least. That might make it difficult for a rail line and station proposal.
