i am sharing my fathers experince
in 70s my father was use to travel from vskp to raipur by waltair(plz correct if i have written wrong) he use to take passenger then it costs nearly 40 to 44rs and after some time link exp(now vskp-korba exp) started
another incident was one day my dad was coming from bilaspur to durg in some 1983 or 84 i dnt know exactly so he was waiting for howrah-mumbai mail via ngp but the train was running horribly late by 13hrs then ser king legendary gitanjali...

exp came to bilaspur almost 10 hrs late and my father board he lost his pass and one of his friend give his pass ,gitanjali that time was a very very high profile train so when tte came for checking he found that my dad is using another boy pass he caught my dad and said wait for me near gate my dad suddenly rushed towards another gate and jumped from the train near bhatapara and ran to jungle that was horrible

another incident in 90s
this time my dad was coming from mumbai after giving interview he took general ticket to durg and that time mumbai-howrah mail via ngp and gitanjali were only known trains so rush was too much and condition was horrible my dad from mumbai to durg was "continue standing only" that time mail use to departs from mumbai at approx 7 0r 7.30pm and use to arrive durg at 4 pm next day
