I have travelled in this train and wana share my experience.
Train name:- Mumbai Duronto Express.
Date:-25th Feb 2013.
Loco incharged:- Ex WAP-6, now WAP-4 of Howrah shed from Howrah to Igatpuri and WCAM3 of Kalyan shed for the rest.
Punctuality:-...
more... It was very poor in punctuality. It departed ontime but got delayed right after departure upto bilaspur. It was halted for about 1+ hr in Tata-Bilaspur section. The reason might be technical fault but in that period, this train was delayed similarly on its every running day. The reason could be the freight traffic, which is given more importance as, as soon as we left hwh, a freight had overtaken us.
Speed:- In HWH-Bilaspur section, the mps might be 115 kmph to 120 kmph but it hardly reached 115+kmph. After Nagpur, it have touched 120kmph upto BSL after which might be 110kmph. But overall speed was not as good as it is suppose to be for Rajdhani type train with such rajdhani lhb coaches. Infact, after entering mumbai surburb Kalyan, it ran continously with good i.e like duronto despite mumbai is crowded with local trains and the train got delayed in sections where it should make high avg speed runs.
Food:- Food given was good especially the one picked from Tata and that from Bilaspur was fine. Breakfast from Howrah as well as Bhusawal was good too.
Other Facts:-
It is undoubtly, the most important train of the route but may being as duronto as it doesnt serve intermediate zone, this train is delayed i.e not given clearance at a times as happened in my journey.
It is SER train with no ER halt, still a ER Engine hauls it as it is believed that mps of SER Engines is 115kmph only and as the coaches of this train are fit for 160kmph and the tracks mps varies enroute with max 120kmph in ngp-bsl section, a 115+ i.e 130-140kmph capable HWH WAP-4 of ER does its duty to haul the train at best i.e at 120kmph wherever possible.
