I believe this Vande Bharat can be regarded as the undisputable 'king' of Indian Railways (though I personally dislike this term. Every train, whether it’s a MEMU, Passenger, or Intercity is king as they play a crucial role in serving thousands of passengers and stations. For some groups, a specific MEMU might be more important than even a Rajdhani. It’s unfortunate that the term 'king' has gained such popularity within the railway community, but I have yet to find a more fitting alternative word to king, so I’ll use it for now.)

say this because:

- This was the first Vande Bharat train.

- It has consistently maintained the highest average speed in Indian Railways, despite other trains, like those on the NZM-AGC sector, reaching speeds of 160 kmph.

- It frequently overtakes several other trains, including other Vande Bharat services like the Ayodhya Vande Bharat.

- This particular Vande Bharat is set to become the first to be replaced by a 20-coach rake.

- No new halts have been added to this train ever since it got inaugurated.

130 in Prayagraj - Varanasi section isn't going to happen before Mahakumbh or even 1 or 2 years later, fencing isn't complete, automatic signalling work hasn't started and also there's dispute over encroachment and Rambagh and Jhusi should be in NCR or NER. Although, NER has been allotted funds for fencing and speed upgradation in this budget.

And yes double line between Jhusi and Prayagraj Jn will be operational this year only, with only some minor works left to be complete, which will be completed after flood water goes down

In almost every news article NER/Varanasi officials claim that once the bridge and the doubling are completed, they'd go for CRS and further upgradation to 160kmph.

Moreover, 130kmph doesn't require fencing, a lot of sections are operational at 130kmph without fencing. Even Howrah-Delhi mainline wasn't fenced until the 160kmph works started.

than half of the Grand Chord has not yet commissioned automatic signaling. And it was one of the first routes to operate non-premium trains at 130kmph. So these issues are trivial.

And the zone jurisdiction debate is perennial, that will go on. Rambag can be handed over to NCR for better outer management, but trains from BSB side have dedicated PFs at PRYJ, so there's not an issue of track crossover anyway.

Let's see, if they actually start running trains at 130kmph in this section before Mahakumbh, it will be so fun, also it will become NER's first high speed line. Also I have learnt that they are erecting boundary walls, which is about 50% done , just an issue at a village where the railway line is cutting the village in two halves and a lot of villagers crosses tracks all the time.

Btw if fencing and automatic signalling isn't absolutely necessary for 130 then why they're not running trains at 130 in

There are high chances it will be. On the one end is Varanasi, and on the other end is Prayagraj, getting ready for the Mahakumbh. It'll be done at high priority.

As for the village, they can simply make a FOB or something of that sort. It's an easy fix, crossing railway tracks randomly isn't legal ayway.

probably the tracks aren't upgraded on the LJN-GKP-CPR route, or perhaps they're trying to complete automatic signaling upgrades at the same time. There can be multiple reasons, NER isn't that famous for it's fast paced works.
