A timetable notice by the Southern railway, dated 31st March, 1957. People who can read Telugu can check this out.
A few interesting tidbits:
1) There was an MG express train between MTM and KRNT in operation between 1953 and 1957 (it was cancelled in 1957, as mentioned in this article). This train was introduced for the purpose of providing a connection between...
more... coastal AP and Kurnool, which was then the capital of the newly formed Andhra state. After the formation of the Andhra Pradesh and the shifting of the capital to Hyderabad, this was cancelled.
2) There was a through carriage service between Madras Egmore and Katpadi on MG!! Passengers could take a 1st class carriage at Katpadi attached to one of the passenger trains, and the carriage was attached to a Madras bound train at Villupuram - a very round-about journey!
3) There was also an MG through coach between Gudur and Madurai via TPTY, KPD, VM.
Note the large number of passengers being operated on the BZA-GTL route.
