Railways taking advantage of passengers by creating uncertainty
So Railways earned 9000 crores in 3 years from ticket cancellation charges and non cancellation of waitlisted tickets. This is 3000 crores a year.
Here...
more... is the set up. People because of wait listing end up booking tickets in 2--3 trains. They go to the station, get confirmed and because of uncertaintly dont cancel tickets in the other booked trains which may get confirmed. Those seats become available, railways never comes to know of it that the passenger hasnt boarded and then the tte sells to unreserved passengers and makes money.
perhaps this circle should come up with a solution where this certainty and penalty is minimised. Railways will ever do it because they will loose revenue like the 120 day in advance booking. but people should demand.
