There should be no problems. SCR used to do the same for trains coming from KZJ side and going towards NED and already does something similar for Janmabhoomi express between BZA-GNT. A D-loco is attached at the rear of the train at BZA and runs idle/dead till TEL. At TEL, the train reverses and the D-loco takes over, while the E-loco now remains idle/dead at the rear of the train. At GNT, the e-loco is detached.
Such a proposal was already made by SCR for trains going towards SBC side after the electrification of GY-YNK route. I guess they are just working out some logistics in the background and will start it soon.
