Gurgaon: Work on electrification of Delhi-Rewari railway line begins
The foundation stone of the project was laid on Saturday by Union minister of state for planning Rao Inderjit Singh. Union railway minister Suresh Prabhu participated in the event through video conferencing.
For the first time, a cylindrical type of foundation for OHE Mast erection is being used in the project. This,offcials said, will reduce the project completion time.
The project is proposed to be completed in nine months whereas the normal time for electrification of 80km of railway line generally takes two years.
The Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Gurgaon section shall have the conventional OHE while the Gurgaon-Rewari line will have the high-rise OHE (7.57m).
As part of the project, a traction substation would be set up at Garhi Harsaru junction, sectioning and paralleling posts at Patel Nagar and Rewari and sub-sectioning and paralleling posts at Inchhapuri, Tajnagar, Gurgaon, Shahabad Mohammedpur.
