ok Guys!
here's the proof that the number of coaches cant be increased..

I have attached a link to hon'ble Railway ministers statement in the parliment in July 2017 with this regard as reported by a local news paper..
I...
more... am sorry I said platform length, it was actually the length of the pit line...
If SWR was genuinely intrested they can construct another pit line outside Vasco city limits where ample space is available... but you know.. it's SWR.
I dont understand why some ppl are saying ghat restrictions..this one doesnt pass by Braganza Ghat.. while coal trains with 30+ wagons do..
With regard to track doubling SWR has already started work on the MAO-LD section in Goa..while the MJO-MAO section is already a double line due to parallel KR line. The MJO-VSG section is stuck due to local protests.
the problem part is the MJO- CSM (Majorda - Cansaulim ) 4 to 6 kilometer strech which has many ancestral houses and religious buildings which are centuries old standing just few meters away from the track...
Dear friends, please don't get the thing wrong... SWR wants to double the track to help Coal transportation from Vasco port to Hubbali plants..
they plan to increase the number of coal trains from existing 9 to 38 trains per day.. thats why they want a double track..
As a matter of fact they dont operate 9 passenger services on any given day ex VSG.. belive it or not..
This coal business is causing a lot of pollution in our state.. the pollution part could be easily avoided if the authories take preventive measures like transporting coal in closed rail wagons instead of the currently used open top wagons..
I and many other locals would have happily supported the track doubling if it was for passenger use or some other less polluting cargo..
SWR has not passed any comment on increasing passenger services after doubling the tracks... even though there are demands to increase frequencies of many trains ( including this one) and start new services... they haven't commented on this even after being questioned about it by local media and village panchayats.
