1992 made coaches fit for uses now?
saw a 92 made coach in palakkad tiruchendur passenger train while travelling in teagarden yesterday
That is why I mentioned the mid-life rehabilitation (MLR). In MLR, they completely strip down the coach and perform major repair works, corrosion repairs and other heavy tasks that are not done during the regular POH of the coaches. This increases the lifetime of coaches which may otherwise be prematurely condemned. Depending on the extent of rehabilitation and the subsequent maintenance, the coach may be permitted to operate for 1-2 years more than its intended lifetime (26-27 years instead of 25) as the MLR is almost like building a new coach. Such coaches were more common many years ago. I guess these days, the codal life limit is more strict.
But yes, a more likely reason...
more... is just negligence.
