I have personally transfered my confirmed 2A ticket to my brother. when i could not travel from mumbai to chennai in 2009. The procedure for transfer of ticket is simple. The person checks all the documents and then changes the name in the ticketing system. In return the documents are stamped and signed by the officer with change of passenger mentioned on the ticket. No new tickets are issued. The same old ticket along with the stamp and signature of the officer along with the name change remarks are...
more... enough for the journey. in my case the passenger name was changed on the chart pasted in the train
