5 compliments
love u sir for dis :* Great work IRI Such a great feature. Awesome options sir thanks It is indeed a good step. Thank you
There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc.
.
To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL Train/Station/Loco Pics will be ACCEPTED into the Timeline. You just have to describe the picture correctly, by ticking the appropriate Check Boxes. Pl. see the screenshots.
Some
...
examples:
1. If large TB is visible clearly, you tick that.
2. If both large & small TB can be seen clearly, then tick both.
3. If the photo is clicked from a distance and no details are visible, then tick "Scenic", and leave all other boxes unchecked.
4. If Shed of the Loco is not clearly visible, then leave that checkbox unticked.
5. If the Station Board is not visible, but the pic shows the FOB at the station, then leave the Station Name unticked, but check FOB.
6. If the Road number of the loco is not visible, but the Shed is clearly visible, leave the Road Number unchecked and check only the Shed.
7. If a pic is taken of a speeding loco and number, shed, etc. are blurred, then check "Passing through station", "Front-View", etc. but leave the "Shed", "number", etc. unchecked.
8. If a picture is taken inside the train, then just check "Inside Train", leave other boxes unchecked.
9. The checkboxes need to be accurately ticked. For example, if your pic does NOT show the Loco shed CLEARLY (without zooming), but you check it, then the pic will be voided.
.
In summary, the appropriate check boxes need to be selected correctly. If the checkboxes are correctly ticked, then your pic will be Confirmed into the Timeline. It will NOT be voided.
.
As for display of the pics, a mixture of pics will be shown on the appropriate page. For example, in the Station page, we may be showing: 1 picture (selected randomly) showing Station Board, 1 Platform Pic, 1 Picture of the Front Entrance, 1 Picture at the Outer, etc. Similarly, for Loco, 1 picture Close-up, 1 scenic shot, 1 side view, etc. For trains, we may show 1 EOG with Board, 1 Sleeper Pic, 1 pic of inside of the Train, etc.
.
So, once again, please check the appropriate boxes, and also, add a text description if possible. The MORE the details, the better, since the pic can be displayed in many places depending on the detailed info. If the description is correct, then the pic will be NOT be Voided anymore. It will be Confirmed. If the checkboxes are wrongly ticked, then the pic will be voided.
.
The feature is not fully ready yet. There are some bugs. By tomorrow, the above scheme will be valid. Also, by tomorrow, we shall have an Edit link for existing TB, SB and Loco Pics, so that the same may be edited by members, and the appropriate checkboxes ticked.
.
Thanks.

There are some minor changes to the PNR Forum: 1. The main PNR feed will only show UN-predicted (by you) PNRs which are coming in. However, if there are replies, the PNR will show and will bubble to the top. Once you predict the PNR, it will go away from the main...

This is an advance notice of a new feature that will be introduced within the next couple of days. The feature is called "Spottings". . 1. This is regarding the appointment of Monitors. For TLMs, we require a minimum of 1000 Confirmed TLs. For FMs, we require members to promise to abide by the guidelines and be free of controversies. For other Monitors, we require the member to be in good standing. . However, "eligibility" does NOT always mean...

This is an advance notice of an upcoming change: 1. We shall be removing the Login/Forum section from the RailCal app as it is cumbersome, buggy and lacking in features. . 2. We shall soon be introducing a dedicated app called "Rail Messenger" for both Android and iOS, for all blogging/messaging purposes. The app...

The following changes are being made: 1. To restore the fun back to PNR Predictions, PNR Predictions will NOT be hidden anymore. PNR Predictions by members can be seen by ALL, before and after Charting. New members often look towards our expert predictors for hints, and we are reinstanting that. . 2. To better...

@all: While we do nominally allow multiple IDs, these multiple IDs are NOT allowed to engage in misuse and "mischief". Voting multiple times in the same poll using multiple IDs, rating each other IDs' blogs using multiple IDs, etc. are classified as "gross misuse". . This is an advance notice that some of the...
