 A railway line proposal to connect from Kurnool to Amaravathi capital via Nandyal.

a. Dupadu- Krishanammakona is urgently needed to connect to the new capital of Andhra Pradesh to the Kurnool City people. For the already existing route from Secunderabad to Dhone line, a slip route that connects to Nandyal – Guntakal line section will connects the Kurnool City towards to Amaravathi. At present, the existing line will take about 3 hours (129 kms ) to reach Nandyal via Dhone where a LOCO has to take a reversal at Dhone railway station. The

proposed new line from Dupadu- Krishnammakona (35kms) will solve the problem and saves around more than 2 hours travelling duration time. Dupadu is on Secunderabad-Dhone line and Krishnammakona is on Nandyal –Guntakal line. The proposed route may covers the villages such as Nannuru, Orvakallu, Kalvabugga and Somayajulapalli. The government of Andhra Pradesh has planned to make Orvakallu as an industrial hub. This line will be useful to these people to connect to the newly capital of Andhra Pradesh. This will be the shortest route than any other route. Indian Railways can be much benefitted with this newly proposed line which connects Kurnool City to Amaravathi.

b. Panyam- Madduru bye pass line connection to Nandyal-Yerraguntla line. This is about 10 kms line is required a new station with named New Nandyala has to be formed between Panyam- Madduru propsed line. With the above proposed route of Dupadu-Krishnammakona will come into existence then this new proposed line Panyam-Madduru bye pass line connection can be considered to connect Secunderabad- Tirupati & Chennai routes. With the existence of this route, about 52 kms journey can be reduced from Kurnool to Yerraguntla existing route. The existing Kurnool- Yerraguntla route which covers Dhone, Gooty & Tadipatri caters about 225 kms. But with this proposed route of about 45 kms i.e. Dupadu-Krishnammakona and Panyam-Madduru will cater the needs to connect from Secunderabad to Chennai line. The major stations where much population is in Nandyala, Banaganapalli, Koilakuntla, Nossam, Jammalamadugu & Proddatur which are major towns of Kurnool and Kadapa district. The propsed route will have much population than the existing route which covers from Dhone, Gooty & Tadipatri. Many people will travel to Tirupathi,Chennai and Hyderabad. The gap line of 45 kms will help the needs of the two districts population to connect the major cities of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana & Tamil Nadu.

If the above line proposed line is commissioned by Indian railways means the following trains can move in this route successfully with good occupancy.
a. 12708 AP Samparkranthi Express
b. 17652 Kacheguda- Chengalpattu Express
c. 16734 Okha-Rameshwaram Express
d. 12797 Venkatadri Express
e. 16004 Nagersol-Chennai Central Express
f. 17606 Kacheguda- Mangalore Express
g. 17418 Shirdi Sai Nagar- Tirupathi Express
h. 12700 Seven Hills Express Express
i. 12766 Amaravathi-Tirupathi Express
j. 16354 Nagercoil-Kacheguda Express
k. 12707 AP Samparkranthi Express
l. 16733 Rameshwaram-Okha Express
m. 16003 Nagersol-Chennai Central Express
n. 17605 Mangalore-Kacheguda Express
o. 12765 Tirupathi-Amaravathi Express
p. 12769 Seven Hills SF Express
q. 12798 Venkatadri Express
r. 17651 Chengalpattu- Kacheguda Express

 Especially people of Rayalaseema i.e three districts will be benefitted. The interior parts of Rayalaseema region people will be benefitted. Traffic on Dhone & Gooty will be reduced with the advent of this route. Already Dhone has high traffic from Guntakal, Gooty, KRNT and Nandyal routes. With this proposed route much traffic can be reduced at this station. The same will affect on Gooty station traffic is also reduced which is from Guntakal, Anantapur, Yerraguntla and Dhone routes side.

 Usually Coastal belt route Chennai-Howrah affects from flood during rainy season, this route will helps as an alternate route from Chennai to Howrah connecting Arakkonam- Tirupathi-Kadapa-Nandyal-KRNT-Kacheguda-Kazipet-Nagpur-Howrah line. This will benefit the Indian railways a lot in future. So, there is a dire need to start an initiative from Indian railways to fill the gap of 45 kms route to serve the south Indian population. Many cement factories are also available in this route at Kolimigundla, Banaganapalli, Panyam, Nandyal and Nossam. The proposed route may cater the needs and improve the economy of Indian railways by providing service through transportation to major industries in this route. The proposed 45 kms route will connects to Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and TamilNadu parts as a short route for the above said states.

 The following existing trains can be extended & started from Nandyal.
i. 56011 Arakkonam(7:05 am)- Kadapa(1:45 pm) can be extended to Nandyal.
ii. 56012 Kadapa(2:35 pm)- Arakkonam(8:55pm) may be started from Nandyal.
iii. 17239 Simhadri Express Guntur(8:00 am)- VSKP(6:00 pm) can be extended to Nandyal.
iv. 17240 Simhadri Express VSKP(7:20 am) –Guntur(3:30 pm) can be started from Nandyal.
v. 17023 Tungabhadra Express SC(7:30am )- KRNT(12:30 pm) can be extended to Nandyal.
vi. 17024 Tungabhadra Express KRNT(3:00pm)-SC(7:55pm) can be started from Nandyal
 Above listed trains may be started and proposed timings for extended trains as follows:
i. 56011 Arakkonam(7:05 am)- Nandyal(6:45 pm)
ii. 56012 Nandyal(7:15 pm)- Arakkonam(6:00pm)
iii. 17239 Simhadri Express Nandyal(5:45 am)- VSKP(6:00 pm).
iv. 17240 Simhadri Express VSKP(7:20 am) –Nandyal(7:40 pm).
v. 17023 Tungabhadra Express SC(7:00 am)-Nandyal(1:30 pm)
vi. 17024 Tungabhadra Express Nandyal(2:10 pm)-Secunderabad (8:30pm).

 A night express train from Vijayawada- Tirupathi via Nandyal can be started.
 An intercity express from Vijayawada- Nandyal can be started.
 A new train from Vijayawada to Secunderabad via Nandyal and Dhone as night express is urgently required in this route.
 A night express train named Nandi Express can be started from Nandyala to Chennai Central.
 Usually there is a much floating of passengers in Nandyal railway station. There is an urgent need of Escalators & lift facility is required to cross from Platform 1 to Platform 2 & 3 and vice versa at Nandyal Railway Station.
 Many passengers will travel and at present 20 trains are moving daily at nandyal station, there is no proper seating arrangement at the station. It is requested to facilitate the passengers by adding chairs/seating arrangement on all the platforms.
 Many travellers from villages usually come to Nandyal Railway station there is a need to be re-opened another entrance from South side of the railway station at Bogguline. It can be operated to facilitate the people from villages. A booking counter has to be started from this entrance also.
 A Railway reservation counter has to be started in the premisis of Nandyal Post office for the facilitation of the Old town population.
 Much of the railway land is available at Gajulapalli R.S station where Indian railways may start a project which can leads towards the employment of local population. A Railway yard can be developed in the premises of Nandyal nearby for its development.
 At Chelama Railway station every train will halts for filling the water as this station has huge resources of water facility. From British period, this station is famous for filling the water to the train bogies. It is requested to send an immediate team for the survey of this and set up a railways project of mineral water plant for RAIL NEER to supply the water throughout the country from this plant. This will be beneficial to the Indian railways and much income can be incurred with this water plant.

The above listed are the demands of Nandyal population after a thorough survey conducted among the public. Sir, you can take up these issues and discuss with the higher officials for completing the above demands of the people towards the Nandyal development.
