I was comparing air fares between metros (Mumbai-Delhi, Kolkata- Delhi, Chennai-Delhi, Bangalore-Delhi etc) and found out that even fares for travel dates of just 1 week in advance right now are almost equal to 2A fares on Rajdhanis and slightly above normal 2A fares. If you book more in advance, you can even get cheaper fares. Given this scenario, why would anyone travel by train (I am not talking about intermediate passengers) when they can fly and save 90% of the time for almost the same fare. Even 3A passengers can pay slightly more and fly. The Indian government should now focus on aviation as much as they do on railways as air travel is the way of the future. Aviation should now be given lot of importance and rules and regulations should be changed such that it favors air travel. Railways is also important, no doubt.

no sir, they ask to come 2 hrs before for a hassle free experience only.
aap ek ghante pehle bhi jake aram se check-in kr sakte h!!
Delhi and Mumbai jaise bade airports pr check-in ki bhi line lagti h, toh wahaan issliye jaldi bulate h!
But airports like Ahmedabad and Lucknow (I frequently travel that's why saying), main ek ghante pehle bhi

pahunch kr aram se check in krta hoon! coz no queue nd all!!
And one more thing I would like to add is, we should stop comparing modes of transports. They are good in their own perspectives.
If you want to enjoy your journey, then choose trains to travel. But if you want to save time, then choose fastest mode to travel - Flight.
aur rahi baat fares ki, toh sabke apne apne views h!
Kissi ka matlab yehi h ki aap itna pay krre h toh time save krke flights choose kre, wahi doosra point yeh h ki itna pay krre ho toh journey enjoy kyun na kiya jaye! So we can't fight on this topic... its completely on everyone's personal choice.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
