Extension of 12343/4 Darjeeling Mail upto Siliguri Junction with a 10 min halt at NJP.
Tenzing Norgay Internatinal Bus Terminus which is the largest bus stand of North Bengal is very near to Siliguri Jn Station premises .

Since Darjeeling Mail has a slip route going towards Haldibari, that can be a problem. Also, if trains are diverted via Thakurganj, there can be demands of stoppage there in future. Although I agree that NJP should be made hassle free for long route ones, important trains that make NJP proud like Shatabdi and Darjeeling Mail should be left at NJP only.
Thats true as well!!!At leasr Darj Mail and NJP Shatabdi can be kept at NJP only.Padatik is running upto NCB now as Special and sooner or later its gonna extended permanently upto NCB or NOQ.Dedicated trains like NJP Chennai,NJP Delhi also should start from NJP only.Only some diversions in Amritsar Karmabhoomi,Udaipur NJP Exp,Ajmer NJP can be done.
no need to divert it via Thakuganj , just extend it from NJP to SGUJ with a 10 min stop at NJP
Sorry no space for parking @ SGUJ at all..also one more prob is NJP SGUJ sec is a troll,although myself travelled in recent time have felt MPS is nw close to 30 kmph & SGUJ NJP can be done in max 12-13 mts but trolling continues indefinitely & it still takes 25-30 mts w/o any stoppage @ SGUT..so not advisable to extend 12343 & harass other pass/freight trains.
