The train’s supervisor, Prashant Janrao, said, “In my short stint as a locomotive supervisor, I have ferried everything from oil to food on these wagons. This is the first time I am ferrying drinking water. I felt a sense of sadness through the journey that it has come to this: a town needing water from a train.”
About the long journey, loco pilot DP Wakade said “I drove slow, knowing reaching the destination safely was important. We had arrived late in the night, but waited at a nearby junction, following the instructions of the local administration.”
