2 City projects likely to figure in Rly Budget Indore-Ujjain : Track Doubling and Indore-Manmad new line may get Prabhu’s nod

projects two projects are: Indore-Ujjain doubling with electrification and Indore-Manmad new rail line.
The minister and his team of senior officials of the ministry and Railway Board are currently busy in giving final touches to the finical plan to be presented in the Lower House later this month. Though, there are four new projects under consideration, these two projects in likelihood would be announced in the budget. These 2 projects also got berth in the budget last year.
The four new projects which are under consideration of the ministry are: Doubling with electrification project of 79km-long Indore-Ujjain section, 303km-long Indore-Manmad project, gauge conversion of 22km-long Fatehabad-Ujjain section and 15km-long new rail line project between Nougaon and Radhakrishna Nagar.
In the last budget, Prabhu approved the survey for Indore-Ujjain doubling project and he also made announcement for the survey of Indore-Manmad new line Project during the budget discussion.
It may be recalled that the Western Railway has completed the survey of 79km-long Indore-Ujjain doubling project a few months ago and also submitted the report to the Railway Board. As per the survey, the estimated cost of the project is Rs 460 crore.
There is persistent demand for the project, which will help in reducing congestion between two important stations of the Ratlam Division that usually leads to delay in operation of the trains from the city. Similarly, the Northern Railway has also completed the survey of Indore-Manmad new line project which will pass through Sendhwa and Nashik. If the project is announced in the railway budget, it will provide an alternate, shorter and direct route from Indore to Mumbai. This will also reduce the distance between the two stations and also travel time Tai behind projects Source said that Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan is persistently pushing for these projects and their inclusion in the Railway Budget.
In order to remove hurdles, she also wrote a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to avail the state’s contribution for the Indore-Manmad project.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
