Requesting Hon'ble Railway Minister to change the allignment of Proposed Puntamba-Rotegaon Railway Line to Kopargaon - Rotegaon Chord Railway line. Supporting points.
1. No need to Railway Bridge over Godavari.
2. Huge land available at Kopargaon. Chord line can be elevated ballastless track from SPV between Maharashtra Govt and Railway Ministry.
3. All Mumbai bound trains from Aurangabad can be diverted from this route....
more... Thus providing alternate connectivity to Shirdi. Hence no need for new trains from Shirdi.
4. 30 KM long chord line can easily constructed as surface is plane. Already is Kopargaon is A category station.
5. 100 KM loop turn via Manmad can be avoided. Also Manmad station is already saturated. Thus saving time , fuel and logistic cost.
6. Manmad - Rotegaon section can used as dedicated freight corridor looking at upcoming DMIC project in Shendra Bidkin area.
7. This will serve dual purpose for Shirdi bound trains as well as trains from Pune to Aurangabad and marathwada region.
