Coaching Depot / Lumding Division.
A round trip Brake Power Certificate (BPC) will be given at Guwahati as Silchar doesn't have sufficient facility to do so as of now, but I think very soon the primary maintenance of this train will be shifted to Silchar base.
The train will have 2 rakes, each rake will have 15 coaches. The coach composition is as follows:
SLR = 2
WGACCN = 1 (AC 3 Tier)
WGSCN = 3 (Sleeper Class)
WGSCZ = 6 (Chair Car)
GS = 3 (Second Class)
The Broad Gauge (1676mm) railway track connectivity in Barak Valley: Lumding - Badarpur - Silchar Section was a long standing demand of the people of Barak Valley as it will provide direct train connectivity to the rest of the parts of India. Earlier the railway track was a Meter Gauge (1000mm) track, it was constructed in the early 1900s by the ambitious British Engineers. It was really a great railway line, a great experience for both common people as well as rail enthusiast. The entire route had a huge number of viaducts, tunnels etc. The present Broad gauge track is also a great treat to people. The new line is almost following the old alignment, only in some places; there are some diversions. Unfortunately, it will not touch Lower Haflong, the new alignment will be going through New Haflong.
Here are some video links of the old Meter Gauge Track:

    These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
