There is a need for a superfast train service - Shatabdi train service from Mumbai to Shirdi. This Shatabdi train should depart from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) at 6.30 a.m. and reach Sainagar Shirdi by 11.30 a.m. Likewise, the return journey from Sainagar Shirdi to LTT should be at 6.00 p.m. so as to reach LTT by 11.00 p.m. A Duronto train also would do but this will not be helpful for passengers of Nasik, Manmad etc.
It is an earnest and fervent appeal to the Railways to introduce this train immediately.

Why worry about mafia? Better to persisit with our request in a positive way and get things done peacefully.
This is been demanded by passengers since ages. Sadly,CR and IR is too busy to hear them.
This is totally because of bus mafia. 1000s of buses operate b/n Mumbai and Shirdi. If a Shatabdi and a daily ONT is introduced, they are under the fear to lost out the income.
To be frank most of Pvt buses are operated by Politicians from the backdoor. They dont want to loose their share. Something fishy is definately there. As since from last decades Only 1 ONT train (DR-SNSI triweekly) & daily Crawler passenger (That too half portion of train) are plying between Shirdi to Mumbai.
Shatabdi between SNSI to Mumbai is excellent Idea, but i doubt it will materialise. At least CR should run Dr-SNSI-DR ONT on daily basis.

And Chalukya was extended to PDy and TEN without anybody asking for it.People from PDy and TEN demanded ONT to YPR USING Chalukya rake and bus lobby got it extended
