This blog is dedicated to all those people who lost their lives, dear ones, homes, property etc during Cyclone Fani.
During May - June, when schools, colleges have summer vacation on, Puri is filled up with tourists. Each and every train runs full during the season. Hotels needs to be booked in advance to get rooms. This year, it is not the same. The cyclone, which has hit the coastal area of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha including Puri between 2nd and 4th May, really threw everything off the track. PR was released for 08403/4 PURI SRC PURI Special. Had I didn't plan then, I too may have dropped visiting Puri.
Spoke with few locals. They said it will take minimum of 6 months for everything to be normal. Hope things be fine soon.
******* A request from my side, please pray for Odisha, especially Puri, AP and the affected coastal area so they can recover quickly from the destruction caused by Fani and be normal again like before. 🙏
Here are some pictures of my visit.
Picture 1 :- SRC WAP 4 22529, Power of Dhauli. A small tip. HWH PURI by Dhauli 2S is cheaper than a 5-6 KMs ride by Uber in Kolkata.
Picture 2 :- Brand new SRC WAP 7 37152 at KGP. VSKP WAP 7 37154 is too at KGP.
Picture 3 :- PF Shed of Khurda Road. You can see some parts of the shed, ripped off by the cyclone.
Picture 4 :- Electric poles affected by Fani. Location KUR outer.
Picture 5 :- Trees near Sakhi Gopal. The branches of the trees got altered by the cyclone.
