Mumbai: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Gets Major Upgrade, Can Now Handle 24-Coach Trains

Over Head Equipment (OHE) portals, including two 53-meter-long special portals. The extended platforms at CSMT can now accommodate 24-coach trains, while the widened platforms at Thane station, achieved through a unique precast hollow block method, are designed to prevent platform settlement. The project required 250 skilled workers, senior officers, and supervisors, and was completed on time thanks to the round-the-clock efforts of 15 senior section engineers, 20 teams of 400 laborers, and 10 contractors.
