The proposed alignment will cater to the local industries in the district and open up an alternate line to Bangalore.
Yes correct...if already there was an old alignment & tracks were already there easier to explore that, however all depends on the fact if those tracts of land have been now taken over for some other purpose.
Tag this under SR and not SWR. Jolarpet-Krishnagiri-Hosur will be completely in SR jurisdiction.
There was a proposal for Dharmapuri to Morappur (36 km line), which was to be completed by SWR. Don't know what is the progress
