Actually the coaches are very old 1996-97-98 make and near the end of codal life. Probably they will be scrapped.
Last month on IRFCA forum, one of the Sr. Railway Officer (CR) asked for suggestions from Rail Fans for making Deccan Queen unique. He asked for suggestions for livery, amenities, interiors, Dining Car, etc.
Maintainance of this Train is just awesome

Hope the Dining car is retained in the new LHB rake as well. It is one of the things that makes the Deccan Queen an iconic train and is the last remaining connection to IR's past, when all crack trains carried dining cars for their passengers. Without it, it will be just be another intercity train.
i think dining car will no longer be available in deccan queen after LHBification
