Hope there are significant changes in the new time table in Kerala at least. As of now the only big change heard is in the 13351 DHN-Allp express. Hope lots of other trains are also there.
Aug 17 2016 (3:07PM) Which clearly shows train can have delayed start from MAQ by 20min 20min(since entire section is under PGT, they can easily do it and there is no conflict with other trains) But PGT div don't want take risk risk, which will lose punctuality
Amount of slack for trains in Kerala is too high.. In my travel in 12602 from PAZ to MAS last sunday, train reached PAZ 15min late, by the time it reached CAN, late was reduced to 3min. And when it reached CLT, it was 5 min before time. At SRR it was 10min before time and PGT it was again another 5min before time. If i just add up before time without including the time to make it on time, it will be 20min before time from PAZ to PGT. Which clearly shows train can have delayed start from MAQ by 20min(since entire section is under PGT, they can easily do it and there is no conflict with other trains). But PGT... more...
div don't want take risk, which will lose punctuality.. :( :(
You are right. Attached is the response by SR authorities when I had raised an issue of the heavy slack time of Mumbai-Kanyakumari express slack time between Thrissur-Ernakulam wherein 2 hours have been allotted to cover approx 70 km. They simply gave another response least related to the concern I had raised !!! This is Southern railway for you....at least in Kerala they seem to be least interested in speeding up trains
Half an hour saving can be done very easily. But as you said will not do it. 12602 is taking almost 5 hours between CAN-PGT. This can cover within 4 hours. Lot of stops should be taken out for this train, that passengers will not allow.
