agree with you da.. Once had an imagination for IR/SR to construct 2 railway lines.. One branching out orf thiruvanmiyur and proceeding towards Kelambakkam (or at least sipcot) on OMR. And the second one also coming out of thiruvanmiyur and proceeding towards ECR...:p
looking at the current traffic in Chennai, all the three routes are good... but the Second one would be more useful than the other two..

Took more than 30 minutes to cover 7 KM strech from Ashok Nagar to Padi (though metro runs in almost 50% of this stretch)

2nd route it will have parallel route VLCY taramani with MRTS. but it will be best but thiruvanmiyur to mahabalipuram/siruseri plan irunthuchuna i will prefer 1.
These route will reduce he traffic in Chennai!!! Much needed routes!!!
