People will start flocking to the metro when it's long enough and serves enough areas, ya know what I mean? And obviously, the route gotta be smart, not like that failed metro in Jaipur.

It would cover the needs for peeps who like AC, those on a budget, and even those who book last minute. For example, if Lucknow was linked to Patna via Varanasi using an Intercity train instead of a Luxury Coach, it would be way more convenient. Folks could use it for travel between AY-LKO too. But now it's a short 8-carriage Luxury Coach, making it hard for lower and middle class folks. It doesn't even cut it for the upper class, cuz it takes a slower route, the food's still trash, and getting to PNBE after 2330 ain't cool at all.

Ek 8 coach VB aasani se replace ho sakta hai with a 20 coach Jan Shatabdi/ICE with bol, 6 AC coaches and baaki dedicated to 2S/GN. That'll fulfill the needs of both air conditioned travellers, economy travellers and even last minute folks. For eg, agar Lucknow ko connect karna tha Varanasi se Patna ke liye Intercity train ke through instead of VB, it would have been zyada suitable. Log use kar sakte the as an UP/DN train for going to/from AY-LKO as well. Par being made a 8 coach VB, it denies lower and middle class people those needs. I would argue it doesn't even fulfill upper class people's needs since it goes via a slower route, the food is still bad and PNBE post 2330 tak pahunchana exactly ideal nahi hota.
