In fact originally SWR has themselves proposed this train via MYS and then somehow it seems MYS division has some constraints and then it got routed via PGT. It's not much of benefit apart from providing an overnight option to ED, Salem, PGT and other stations.

Just compare the train route between MAQ and YPR of this train and shortest route. This train travels 471 Kms more! If Kerala needs train connectivity to Bengaluru then let this train get terminated at KGQ/CAN. Why simply making it to run till MAQ and wasting one train slot here? This train is useless to Coastal Karnataka people. So, either this should be terminated at KGQ/CAN or the route should be changed and it should be made to run via HAS.
