Kanpur, Lucknow, Allahabad,Mughasarai
and nearby area should be equipped with modern signalling system.
From last 5-6 years railway board was saying that once lines are trippled the train will start running at Right time.
Now since many projects are nearing completion, they are advising signalling upgradation. Why signalling upgrade was not taken up earlier.
IR
...
is wasting money and giving manipulative advise to Politicians.
Real delay are due to
Non availabllity of sufficient platform at imp Junctions.
Non availability to 24 Coach platforms
Unnecessary political stop.
Incomplete trippling, doubling work in highly congested section due to encroachment and poor co ordination.
and of course old signalling system.
But all these things requires only little investment, but IR is always looking for massive investments.

Just by improving signalling will though result in running more trains in shorter blocks thats true. But that wont help in reducing delay & wont improve overall carrying capacity of a particular stretch. Max stretch b/w Fatehpur-MGS now runs in auto signalling. Though the proposed ECTS-II is even better but still by introducing auto signalling even after we see that avg running time b/w ALD MGS is 5-6 hrs. The reason is IR runs various types of trains in same tracks whose speed range varies b/w 50-160 kmph. So while overtaking slower trains will definitely need to be taken into loops which actually enters loops at an avg 10 kmph. So shorter blocks never helps in long run eventually faster trains need to wait for slower trains to give them pass.

Won't happen as passengers services won't ever turn profitable as they dont cover operational costs
