Question- Why loco pilot sometimes release the pressure manually from the compressor generating air pressure for braking?
Answer- The compressor generates air pressure by using the surrounding air. Air is forced inside the gas cylinder by the compressor. During rainy season when surrounding air has increased moisture content, the compressor also forces some water(moisture) inside the cylinder. This kind of air containing water may reduce the efficiency of the braking system of the train.
the Locopilot manually releases the pressure, regularly so that the water filled inside is removed.

➡️Why is elevation from the sea level written at the railway station ?
➡️Basically, it is intended for loco drivers, guards and railway engineers as it tells the gradient(slope) between two stations.
It comes to help while laying down the tracks and even if the train is moving from higher level to lower level or vice versa , then loco driver knows how much speed has to be maintained .Another application is that it is also used for telecommunication to know the coverage area of radio station but it does not come into
play nowadays as we have GPS system.

Travelling can be very hectic for passengers especially if the journey is made through trains. There comes often a time when the journey we have planned takes a sudden change but you cannot help it because the reservation tickets are already booked. Therefore, in a major good news, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has brought a new service where a passenger can board train from another station, even if the ticket is booked at different station.
The IRCTC through it’s twitter account titled @IRCTCofficial said, “Want to #board #train from another #station but #ticket has been booked? Change your boarding station right from #IRCTC #eTicketing website. Just log on to click here or download IRCTC Rail Connect App.”
can download the IRCTC Rail Connect App from their Google Play Store.
The key features of this app are given below:
🔹New users, register from app directly
🔹One step PIN based secure login to existing users
🔹Search and book train tickets
🔹Ladies and premium tatkal quota booking support added
🔹View and cancellation of tickets
🔹Current reservation and boarding point change facility
🔹IRCTC website tickets are now synchronized with the app
As for a passenger can make boarding station changes on IRCTC website, by following four steps.
1) A customer will have to log into their IRCTC website with their login ID and password
2) Then click on to ‘Booking Ticket History’ section
3) Select your train and then click ‘Change Boarding Point’. It needs to be noted that this boarding point option will appear on new page
4) The last step would be to select new boarding station from the drop down under change boarding station section
IRCTC has been on multiple occasion introduced a list of facilities for the convenience of the railway passengers.
