Reason for choosing NDLS-HBJ route is that, this route is the longest Shatabdi route of IR, Bhopal Shatabdi covers 1418 km in just one day, rake condition of this Shatabdi is pathethic, news of suspension spring break, poor maintenance and non working of various system is quite common, hence Bpl Shatabdi needs the T-18 rake more than any other, it will not only give a better rake to Shatabdi but also T-18 will help in significant speedup of it, which is not possible with current rake, also NDLS-AGC is currently the only section of IR which is sanctioned for 160 kmph operation.
