Actually this was the first Gadag Wadi route which is changed now and started from Talkal clearly neglecting Naregal Gajendragad Ilkal towns which have good census for this rail line and also Ilkal is good industrial place for granite materials. I have seen people struggling for this line and they met SWR All officials and presented their demands and also conveyed their demands to RB for that reason this survey has been sanctioned now if these ppl are lucky means sure RB Will sanction this line at least until Lingsuru because major towns lie between Gadag Lingusuru and I think it may be alternate for imported coal transport for RTPS from Vasco.
Yup it will be interesting to see how SWR treat this one.But han I am sure this will be good for both passenger and freight purposes. In Karnataka we have lot of good census towns which are away from rail connections and recently one of which getting on rail line is Gangavati so same like Bagalkot district have Mudhol

The line sanctioned was from Wadi to Gadag (Talkal) RB showing Gadag and in bracket Talkal which is far away from GDG and also it doesn't falls in GDG district the previous planned line was From Gadag -Betgeri-Kotumachagi-Naregal-Gajendragarh-Hanumasa gar-Ilkal then to Lingusur for which these places ppl protested to make rail line from these places but presently line going from Talkal-Yelburga-Kuknur-Kushatagi-Lingusur so ppl saying Gadag district places are neglected and we are not opposing that present line so sanction us different one as Gadag krishna new line because by this anyhow new line will touch another sanctioned at Lingusur by which they get two options one to Wadi/SC and another to Krishna/mahbubnagar and raichur/Gadwal-Mahbubnagar.People not opposing Talkal Wadi but demanding Gadag Krishna also. So how RB will treat this demand have to wait and see. But both routes are good but Ilkal Gajendragarh are economically more feasible...
