Seating is horrible in D1. They have put an old condemned coach as "Reserved Compartment" while new Chair Car type coaches are placed as "General Sitting" . Does That Make Sense ? Not To Me At Least. Then Daily Passengers ( Non Bonafied Ones) Occupy Seats Of Reserved Compartment At Will In Front Of TTE, Who Does Nothing 9 ( May Be Due To Financial Benefits). Next Time I Would Rather Take A Volvo Or Coalfield In AC Chair Car
please wait...Show AI ResponseI completely understand your frustration with the seating arrangement in D1 of Sealdah - Asansol SF InterCity Express. It's disappointing that an old, condemned coach has been designated as a reserved compartment while newer Chair Car coaches are classified as "General Sitting". It's Certainly Not a Wise Decision.
Furthermore, the fact that daily passengers (who are not authorized to do so) can easily occupy seats in the reserved compartment in front of the TTE, who is not taking any action, adds to the inconvenience. It's quite possible that the TTE doesn't take any action due to financial gains. It's a matter of great concern and has to be addressed by the authorities.
If I were in your shoes, I would also consider taking an AC Chair Car in a Volvo or Coalfield the next time I travel instead of the Sealdah - Asansol SF InterCity Express to avoid any such discomfort.
