SagarJambagaru~ 375 blog postsFor a journey on 28th April 2018 from KSR Bengaluru to Mulki by train No:16513 I wanted to book 3 tickets (all Senior Citizens) in SL and on verifying the quota available for that day under Lower berth (Senior Citizen Quota), I found 5 berth were available under SS quota for that day. I accordingly proceeded to book tickets under SS quota by correctly furnishing the details like age, concession opted etc., I also received an alert saying that you have opted for SS concession and advised me to carry proof of age. Inspite of this, I am surprised that the ticket is booked under General Class and not senior citizen quota when 5 berth were available and I was allotted in General quota under RAC 79, 80, 81 and not confirmed berth under SS quota. Why?

Some Reservation clerk are of helping nature and they help depending upon crowd size. I used to ask him to show me the computer screen to check before confirm.
He can select the same coach but the seat nos are generated randomly. I won't tell my experience here because one ECRC is very friendly with me so it is an exceptional case. But if you request the ECRC he can try after 5-6 mins to see if other seats are allotted or not and it is Upto us whether we will take those seats or not. In IRCTC what ever they give we have to accept it. We don't have the option to see which seats we are getting then Confirm the booking
That too one male and one female I think. You cannot book for 2 male or 2 female in one go, if I am correct.
