Ballygunge Jn is my home station. Though it doesn't have any Mail/Exp trains still I am adding a Station Tip of the station. It is located on SDAH South Section. From here 1 line proceeds towards Sonarpur and another towards Budge Budge on the down side. On the Up line is Sealdah. You can even get direct EMU service to Sealdah Main line which bypasses SDAH by using chord line route via PQS-SGBA-KGK-BNXR i.e you can directly get trains for Naihati which bypasses SDAH and you don't have to change train at SDAH. Gariahat a famous Market Shopping hub of Kolkata is only few minutes walking distance away from Ballygunge station. You will get AC Buses/Normal Buses to Airport/Howrah and to nearest Metro Railway station which is Kalighat.The fare of AC Buses from Ballygunge Jn to Howrah Jn is ₹30(Ashok Leyland/Tata Services)/₹35(Volvo).For Airport ₹50 or ₹55.
