Awesome Report, Sir. ☺
My dream of traveling on this train was finally realized on my recent visit to India. Have taken a lot of video footage and will upload one at a time. Two runs stood out for me - the first was a cracking 3.5 hour non-stop run from Igatpuri to Bhusaval outer, blazing through everything. The 2nd was a 5 hr 35 mt run from ET to STA with only one unscheduled halt at Madan Mahal. Pipariya, Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, ... was skipped. My 3AC coach was pretty much full till Satna. I observed many people getting down at Satna. Looks like it is a well patronized halt, since it provides good connections for Rewa.
noted that there are now direct trains from Nagpur, Rajkot, Delhi and Bilaspur to Rewa. What is stopping IR from introducing a direct Mumbai-Rewa train?
As far as the maintenance of the LHB rake is concerned, it is quite mediocre. For example, a lot of the walls near the door area had vinyl coverings getting peeled off, presenting a very grotesque look. Evening snacks were really good as well as the breakfast. Dinner was ok.

When it started, it had just two commercial halts - MGS and JBP. And that was the status when I took it in Jan 2000 from MGS to LTT. It had technical halts at Satna, Itarsi, Bhusaval, Igatpuri. But it had plenty of slack - almost 30 hours from PNBE to LTT. The train wasn't that impressive from MGS to ET - took 13.5 hours. But the run after that was good. We skipped all kinds of stations - Harda, Jalgaon, Manmad, Nasik Road, Kalyan.

1. Agree on all your observations. I can understand trolling it near Allahahad - that infamous Bermuda triangle. But why near Mumbai?
2. No one got in Igatpuri. Won't this be useful for Nasik folks? They can easily come to IGP and board this train. Or maybe they could take the LTT-FD exp. or some other train from NK itself.

I am wondering if we got held up because of this train. If so, then the controllers should have allowed us to overtake it.

Totally Agreed, Sir.
1. Even I have no idea that why is it trolled near Mumbai, it is a CR Mumbai based Duronto and it's trolled like a Passenger in Mumbai, but I guess Mumbai is so congested that it's true for most of the trains there.
2. Nashik people normally prefer Nashik Road which itself is quite far from Nashik City Centre (more of a separate sister city itself) and Devlali at most. Igatpuri is too far especially for a passenger who's ready to pay Flexi Fare for facilities. So they prefer
other trains, Igatpuri is completely useless for both Mumbai and Nashik.
3. Yes normally Duronto gets held up because of LTT Faizabad Express mostly as most of the time it's regulated at or before Naini Junction (overtaking is not possible at and after Naini), which slows down Duronto.
Plus they're both CR trains so I wouldn't count too much on Priority.
BTW I just saw your SC Duronto at Wadi Video, literally loved your enthusiasm when you saw Humsafar. Good thing your Duronto got 1 hour late.
Even Allahabad Duronto's Jabalpur Skip Video was quite awesome.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...
